GuardianLock Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 12, 2026
GuardianLock and its holding company, Legacy Portfolio, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of our subscribers and partners. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information in connection with our Managed Educational and Safety Platform, our public-facing websites, the Authorized Devices we provide, and our Affiliate Program.
1. Our Relationship and Data Agency
GuardianLock provides an integrated educational and safety service. To facilitate this, we act as your agent for the processing and handling of certain data required to maintain a secure mobile environment. We do not sell your personal information or data to third parties.
2. Information We Collect
We collect data strictly necessary to deliver our educational resources, safety protocols, and affiliate services:
- Administrative Metadata and Device Identifiers: GuardianLock collects certain non-personal administrative metadata during device enrollment, including a Device Nickname or Identifier and a Safety Profile selection (e.g., Child, Teen, or Adult). This information is classified as Administrative Data required for the core function of the Educational Service. The Safety Profile is used strictly to configure on-device safety protocols, including the Sensitive Content Analysis Framework and Communication Safety. This identifier is not classified as Personal Data; it is used solely for service provisioning and subscription management and is never used for tracking, advertising, or building personal user profiles.
- Device Telemetry: We collect system-level information, such as device serial numbers, OS versions, and hardware identifiers, to set up and provide device deployment services.
- Application Inventory: Our management system maintains a list of installed applications solely to verify compliance with our educational safety standards. We do not monitor or collect data on the specific content within those applications.
- Affiliate Program Data: For members of our Affiliate Program, we collect contact information, tax identifiers, and payment details necessary to calculate and distribute commissions.
- Log Files: Like most websites, we follow a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit our websites. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
- Cookies and Web Beacons: We use 'cookies' to store information including visitors' preferences and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.
3. Mobile Device Management (MDM) Transparency
As required by the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, we disclose that all Authorized Devices are managed via Mobile Device Management (MDM). This allows GuardianLock to:
- Remotely manage configuration and security settings.
- Enforce system-level safety features.
- Perform a Secure Erase of all data if the device is reported lost or stolen, or upon the conclusion of the service agreement.
GuardianLock does not have access to, nor do we monitor or record, private communications, calls, or personal media.
4. On-Device Safety Processing
We utilize Apple’s Sensitive Content Analysis Framework and Communication Safety protocols to protect users from inappropriate content.
- Local Analysis: All content analysis for safety occurs strictly and locally on the device.
- No Data Transmission: GuardianLock does not receive, store, or transmit any images, videos, or specific results analyzed by this framework off the device.
5. Third-Party Privacy Policies
GuardianLock's Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options. You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options.
6. Children’s Privacy and Protection
Our service is designed to protect children. GuardianLock does not issue or manage Apple Accounts for minors; subscribers use personal Apple IDs. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 beyond the administrative device nickname required to deliver safety services. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
7. Your Rights (CCPA & GDPR)
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as California or the EU), you may have the following rights:
- The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
- The right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
- The right to erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
Because we act as an agent for your educational subscription, certain administrative data (like device serial numbers) must be retained as long as the hardware is in your possession to maintain the safety environment.
8. International Users
GuardianLock is based in the United States. By using our service, you acknowledge that your administrative data may be processed in the U.S. We implement industry-standard measures to safeguard data during transfer.
9. Third-Party Data Sharing
- Apple Inc.: Device identifiers and account information are shared with Apple Inc. to facilitate device provisioning, account authentication, and anti-fraud measures.
- No Marketing Sharing: We do not share Safety Profile selections or Device Identifiers with advertising platforms or data brokers.
10. End of Service and Data Erasure
Upon the return of an Authorized Device at the end of the service term or upon cancellation, GuardianLock performs a cryptographic wipe of the hardware to ensure all subscriber data is permanently destroyed before the device is decommissioned.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Apple may change Program Requirements at any time. We reserve the right to update this policy to maintain compliance with Apple’s platform terms. We will notify you of any material changes via the email address associated with your subscription.
